Peace Government Foreign Ministry Welcomes Ethiopia's Closure of Sudan Consulate in Assosa
The Peace Government's Foreign Ministry welcomed Ethiopia's decision to close Sudan's consulate in Assosa as serving shared interests, and called on friendly states to adopt what it called the precise description of the regime as a 'coup and terrorist regime'.
Press Statement
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Peace Government welcomes the decision of the Ethiopian Government to close the Sudanese Consulate in the city of Asosa. This is a step that reinforces shared interests and serves the welfare of the two fraternal peoples.
This decision comes in light of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood regime’s exploitation of diplomatic missions and consular headquarters as platforms to sow discord, instigate unrest, and undermine the stability of peoples. In this context, the Ministry reaffirms its steadfast commitment to building robust bilateral relations with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, based on the foundations of cooperation, stability, and mutual benefit to serve the peoples of both countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation reiterates that this terrorist organization in no way represents the proud Sudanese people. Rather, it is a regime that usurped power, stole the glorious revolution of the Sudanese people, and ignited this absurd war in pursuit of returning to rule through the shedding of blood and the oppression of the nation's citizens.
Accordingly, the Ministry calls upon all fraternal and friendly nations to adopt the precise legal and political characterization of this regime as a "coup-plotting and terrorist regime," and to deal with it on this basis.
