Council of Ministers holds second meeting in El Fasher on liberation anniversary

The Peace Government Council of Ministers held its second meeting in El Fasher, chaired by Prime Minister Mohamed Hassan Al-Ta'ashi, a year after El Fasher's liberation — discussing the previous report, a food-shortage plan, and a Foreign Minister briefing on the UN envoy meeting, and pledging recovery across Sudan.

The Council of Ministers of the Transitional Peace Government held its second meeting today in the city of El Fasher. The agenda included several key topics, most notably a review of the previous meeting’s report and a plan to address the risks of food shortages in areas under the control of the founding government.

The Council also received a briefing from the Minister of Foreign Affairs regarding his meeting with the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General. The session was opened by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Hassan Al-Ta’ashi, who paid tribute to all those who have fallen as martyrs in Sudan’s various conflicts—with a special mention of the martyrs in El Fasher. The meeting took place one year after the liberation of El Fasher; the Council honored the sacrifices made by the brave fighters across all fronts, as well as the significant victories achieved by the "Founding Alliance" (Ta’sis) forces in Blue Nile, Kordofan, and the Tina sector.

The Council reaffirmed its full support for the Founding Alliance forces until every inch of Sudanese territory is liberated from the scourge of the "Port Sudan" terrorist group. Holding this meeting in El Fasher carries profound historical and symbolic significance. Through this peace-oriented government, the Council will work to foster recovery in El Fasher and across all regions of Sudan. The Council will continue to hold further sessions to address additional matters, which will be discussed in due course.
